Governance

Evolution

Imagine having to pay your boss for your idea to improve the company. This is how current DAOs basically work

With DeXe Protocol, DAOs can automatically reward members for voting, proposing, and executing proposals. Incentivize members to build, for everyone’s benefit

  • Members get rewards for their engagement
  • DeXe Protocol DAO get effective governance

Using the

DeXe Protocol

the DeXe community managed to create an ideal DAO

Much like in Plato's Republic every citizen has a say, every DAO member has a voice and a role in the ideal DAO
Voting and Consensus
  • Consensus-based decision-making mechanism where every vote is important
  • Quorum always represents the majority, even with a low circulating supply of tokens
  • Similar to Socratic dialogue, multiple viewpoints are considered before a decision is reached
Ideal DAO
  • Each member's vote counts
  • Decentralized governance to everyone's benefit
  • Resistant to corruption and prioritizing personal interests over general benefit
  • Free from plutocracy
Philosopher kings
  • Like with Plato's philosopher-kings, governance by experts or experienced members
  • Decisions are made from experience and knowledge, but DAO members can always vote on them

Voting and

Voting Power

Democracy hasn't worked back when Plato criticized it, nor does it today.

Our unique vote calculation system fights plutocracy and creates a novel meritocratic model that accounts for Sybil attacks, the shortcomings of existing quadratic voting systems, and more
2 vote calculation methods
Holder
Has standard nonlinear voting power where 1 token = 1 vote, 1000 = 990 votes, and so on

Expert
Has higher voting power, which further increases when delegated tokens from the treasury

Delegation

and

Experts

When delegating tokens, don't just trust the experts — invest in effective governance!

Rewarding the experts for their leadership, we ensure not just dedication to work, but rather decisive action based on demonstrated experience. By moving away from unpaid governance towards rewarding professionalism, we create a path to building a more solid and sustainable DAO ecosystem

Onchain delegation

Delegate any number of tokens to any address for governing with them

Delegate's fee

Delegate gets a 20% fee of voting rewards from holders and 1.168% from the treasury

Fractal subDAOs

Experts (individuals and DAOs) can unite into working groups to form a subDAO in one or more DAOs to pool together their expertise and earn more

Quorums

that actually mean something

A DAO with a quorum of 5% is not a DAO but merely a "decentralized" autonomous organization with centralized governance. Our delegation system allows DAOs to distribute tokens that are just sitting in the treasury, unused to experts and other delegates. This increases the level of decentralization and effectiveness of token usage.

On top of individual experts, why not have

whole

DAOs of experts

The two most trusted roles in the DeXe DAO are the validators and the consuls

Validators

Validators are a sort of 2FA for the voting process. After the voting ended, they review the transparency and honesty of the decision. Validators have the final say in accepting the proposal

Council members

Council members have the highest judicial authority, representing the DAO in the Web2 world. They get appointed and removed by the decision of a DAO. The appointed Council members automatically become Validators.
